Drinking Limits

Please note that some wines or beers are of higher percentage alcohol, and should be taken into account in difference to the list below.

Alcoholic Limits

Wine (12 % ABV)

750ml = 9 Units
Small glass = 1.5 units
Standard glass = 2.1 units
Large glass = 3 units

Cider (5% ABV)

330ml = 1.7 Units

Beer (5 % ABV)

330ml = 1.7 Units

Champagne (12 % ABV)

750ml = 9 Units
Small glass = 1.5 units
Standard glass = 2.1 units
Large glass = 3 units

Low Alcohol Beer (2 % ABV)

Low Alcohol Cider (2 % ABV)

The calculation as to expressing the units of alcohol is as follows:

E.g: 175ml 12% glass of wine = 175 x 12 = 2100
2100 divided by 1000 = 2.1 Units.

Therefore, before you drink and drive, consider your risk and danger to the other road users and public.

Do NOT drink and drive.
