Criminal Law
You will be represented throughout by a senior lawyer with many years of experience in all aspects of criminal law. We understand our client’s lead busy lives and will tailor your instruction to fit in with you.
If you have been accused of a crime, or arrested, we will proactively represent you throughout the investigation. Years of government cut backs has resulted in an under resourced police force. The temptation for police to take short cuts is a real one. We will not let you be intimidated, or coerced, into saying something that may be entirely against your interests. If you are to be interviewed under caution as a volunteer, we will seek to arrange a time for the interview that is convenient for you. You will be fully prepared going in to that interview. We will have devised the best strategy for you. At the end of the investigation we will raise legal arguments on your behalf in relation to the strength of the evidence against you and whether it is in the public interest that you to be prosecuted.
If you have been charged already and now seek private representation, we will firstly review the charging decision. If it is possible to challenge the decision to charge you, we will. If court proceedings are, however, inevitable we will be with you at each stage of the process. You will fully understand the evidence against you and the tactics to be deployed in your defence. If your case requires it, we will have close professional relationships with specialist barristers who will be instructed to form part of your defence team. It is by working as a team that we will achieve the best outcome for you.
